FAQ
While you may get together in groups or ask your friends for help in solving the missions, we will treat every submission as if its one individual. If we identify multiple submissions that are the same, we will also treat it as if it is one individual.
Legal Disclaimer
StarTree Mission Impossible: Data Reckoning is a contest built by engineers for engineers. Competing and completing a challenge does not guarantee you will win a grand prize. Here are the rules, including eligibility for prizes, how to win, and what to do in the event of a tie:
- Contest concepts: There will be five unique missions (challenges) that last for two weeks. Each mission will include instructions for how to complete the mission, and how to submit your work. Each unique challenge will clarify the judging criteria, and the judging panel is comprised of technical StarTree employees.
- Eligibility: While anyone is welcome to play globally, the competition is built for data engineers, data architects, and software engineers who are interested in or already building skills to leverage real-time data. Contestants may only win one t-shirt and one grand prize, although they are welcome to compete in all five missions.
How to win a t-shirt: You must successfully complete a challenge, which will be determined by our judging panel, and reside in one of the countries listed below.* - How to win one of the five grand prizes: Each contestant will submit their work and it will be judged against clear criteria set forth in the mission. In the event of a tie, we will conduct a LinkedIn live drawing for the final winner of that mission.
- What are the grand prizes? The winner of each grand prize can choose ONE from a selection of prizes valued at $3,500 which include an Apple Vision Pro, a ticket to attend re:Invent with a travel voucher, or a DoorDash gift card. All prizes will be awarded via digital delivery. Prizes are non-transferrable and only awarded to the winning individual. In the event the winning individual is not able to accept gifts, the prize will go to the next eligible winner who can receive gifts.
By participating in this contest, you agree to these terms and rules and any other conditions specified by StarTree. StarTree reserves the right to modify or cancel prizes, eligibility, or any aspect of the competition at any time without prior notice.
