StarTree Named a Leader in 2024 GigaOm Sonar Report for Real-Time Analytics Databases
We’re excited to share that GigaOm has recognized StarTree as a leader and innovative fast-mover in the real-time analytics space. GigaOm’s first Sonar Report for Real-Time Analytical Databases features nine real-time analytics database vendors, and StarTree has been recognized as one of just two vendors listed as a leader and fast mover.

What is the GigaOm Sonar Report for Real-Time Analytics Databases?
The permeation of real-time analytics across industries was the driving force behind GigaOm’s new report. We’re seeing an increasing breadth of companies rely on real-time analytics for diverse use cases ranging from observability and fraud detection to clickstream analysis and delivery and rideshare.
GigaOm’s Sonar Reports offer an early view of how vendors are moving in nascent technology sectors (in this case, the real-time analytics space), whereas their Radar reports cover more mature markets. The visualization of a Sonar report is semicircular in shape, focusing solely on innovation.
Of the vendors covered by GigaOm’s report on real-time analytical databases, only StarTree and one other competitor, ClickHouse, were cited as both leaders and fast movers in the industry. The report also included Rockset, which was recently acquired by OpenAI. While no longer available for commercial purchase, Rockset’s inclusion in the Sonar report indicates the high-velocity growth of real-time analytical databases and the continued evolution of this space.
Each of the vendors were evaluated against a number of key characteristics, including storage/analytics optimizations, data ingestion, schema management, scalability, and high availability. Using this rubric, StarTree tied with other vendors as the highest rated real-time analytics database, with a rating of capable or exceptional in all categories.
